New Pre-K "Zoo Camp" Begins Feb. 1

Springfield, Mo. - Dickerson Park Zoo will launch a three-month education opportunity beginning Feb. 1 for preschoolers to explore the natural world and conservation.

"3rd Quarter Zoo Camp" for 4- to 6-year-old children opens on Feb. 1, and continues through April 28. Children will engage in activities and experiences such as animal encounters, zoo exploration (weather permitting), arts and crafts, and writing and counting opportunities. The camp curriculum has been created to fulfill state and national learning goals and is geared toward preparing young students for school success.

The camp schedule is three days per week (Tuesday-Thursday) from 1-3:30 p.m. Enrollment for 3rd Quarter Zoo Camp is limited to 10 children. Fees are $125 per month; and if a family enrolls more than one child, fees for the second child will be discounted by $25. 3rd Quarter Zoo Camp will observe spring break with Springfield Public Schools (March 21-25).
