March 8 — Spring Forward with Frogs!
Saving Frogs
Volunteers at the Conservation Station and Ambler Diversity of LIfe buildings will interact with zoo guests.

April 1Summer hours begin. Dickerson Park Zoo open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Guests may stay in the park until 6 p.m.

April 11 — Enrichment EGGstravaganza, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Watch Dickerson Park Zoo's animals play with Easter Eggs provided by zookeepers.

April 18 — Party for the Planet, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Party for the Planet

Celebrate Earth Day at Dickerson Park Zoo.

April 25 — Teddy Bear Rally
St. John's Children's Hospital
9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Free admission all day, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Staff and volunteers from St. John's Children's Hospital will have health- and bear-related activities for children.

May 10 — Mother’s Day
Free admission all day for mothers.

May 14 — Members Night, 6 p.m.
Annual appreciation picnic for Friends of the Zoo members. Help the zoo celebrate two very special elephant birthdays.

May 15Endangered Species Day

May 30 — Zoobilee, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
A festive atmosphere of fun activities for kids.

June 5 — Dreamnight at the Zoo, 6 p.m.
Private event (by invitation only) for children with a chronic illness or disability and their families to enjoy a free evening at Dickerson Park Zoo.

June 21 — Father’s Day
Free admission all day for fathers.

July 10 — Ball of the Wild 2009
Presented by C.W. Titus Foundation

July 18 – Art Gone Wild, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Art Gone WildSpringfield Regional Arts Council
Free hands-on art activities in partnership with Springfield Regional Arts Council.

August 8 – Pancakes in the Park, 7-10 a.m.
Beat the heat and feast with the beasts on pancakes and sausage prepared by Village Inn Restaurants at the zoo's Bush Country Cafe. Cost for breakfast is $4 for adults, $3 for children, plus regular zoo admission charges.

August 29 – McDonald’s Dollar Day
Gates open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Zoo admission is $1 all day for adults and children.

October 1 - Winter hours begin. Dickerson Park Zoo open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Guests may stay in the park until 5 p.m.

Halloween SPOOKATCULAR
October 21 – Members-Only "Dress Rehearsal," 6:30-9 p.m.
October 22–31 – Open to the general public, 6:30-9 p.m. nightly. Admission $5 at the gate for everyone age 1 and older. Discounted advance tickets ($4 each) available in mid-October.
