Join staff and volunteers from Dickerson Park Zoo for the annual Eagle Days programs at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center on Saturday, Jan. 16, and Sunday, Jan. 17. Programs in the nature center’s auditorium will featuring the zoo’s bald eagle Phoenix and golden eagle Aquila will begin hourly from 9 a.m.–3 p.m., Saturday, and 12:30–3:30 p.m., Sunday.

Members of the general public will also have opportunities to view bald eagles along Lake Springfield with the assistance of volunteers and spotting scopes at the Lake Springfield Boathouse & Marina, operated by the Springfield-Greene County Park Board.

No registration is required for either the indoor programs or the outdoor viewing.

Summer Hours Begin @ Dickerson Park Zoo
Apr 1 all-day

Dickerson Park Zoo begins summer hours on April 1.

Admission and gift shop hours are 9 a.m.–5 p.m., daily, regardless of the weather. The zoo is open for all summer holidays.

The Bush Country Cafe is open 9:30 a.m.–4 p.m., Monday through Thursday; and 9:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The Titus Express train ride and giraffe feeding deck are open 10 a.m.–4 p.m., Monday through Thursday; and 10 a.m.–4:30 p.m., Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The train operates weather permitting. Tickets are $2 per person for everyone age 2 and older. Giraffe food is $4 per package.

1:40 p.m. – Dart frogs (Diversity of Life building)
2 p.m. – Hippopotamus
