Zoo Education Programs

Z.E.B.R.A. classes feature live animal encounters in our “up-close” visits with education animals; biofacts to touch and learn about; crafts and hands-on activities; stories, games and a snack. Some classes include a hike in the zoo (weather permitting)!

Classes for children ages 2 through 7th grade will resume in early 2015. Please check back for schedules and information.

Choose one of four “Meet & Greet” events at Dickerson Park Zoo’s Education Department with our new education specialist, Jamie Williams!

This FREE open house includes crafts, games and time to make new zoo friends. Activities are appropriate for children ages 2-7. Siblings are welcome to attend, but parents must accompany their child(ren).

Zoo Roots and Shoots Program

Join our chapter of Roots & Shoots™, a service organization for 4th, 5th and 6th graders dedicated to helping animals, the environment and the human community. Jane Goodall founded Roots & Shoots™ in 1991.
